Opening Incident

Case Summary

After years of handling anomalies, Li Hai thought he had seen everything. Then he spotted a fishtail sticking out of the sand and made the very reasonable decision to drag home a free dinner.

Witness Statement

Unfortunately, the “fish” had a human upper body. He stuffed the stranded merfolk back into the sand, walked away, clicked his tongue, then came back and dug them out again.

“Just my fucking luck. Hey, can you talk? Do you understand me?”
