Set in a late 15 century Slovakia, somewhere behind the Carpathians.
There is great trouble about, with Robber Barons, Hussites and Turks on the prowl all around, even the smallest communities need armed men that can stand guard and fight of these thiefs.

One such pair of soldiers are Marcus and Jerry: Jerry actually fought a battle once, taking part in a siege once against the Turks in the Balkans. And all he got to show for it is a bum leg.

Marcus meanwhile is just a blue eyed recruit who joined up cause his mama told him he would get to fight some heretics in the name of Jesus. And Marcus loves Jesus and hates Heretics.
