In this world, there exists in stories a rare, celestial bond that can exist between two people whose souls were made for each other. We call this Lovestrung. The bond between two soulmates is made visible to one of the two as an intangible red thread.

The one who sees it, The Waker, has fallen in love at first sight. The other half of the fated pair, The Sleeper, remains unaware of both the string and the bond. The string will stay visible to The Waker until the The Sleeper falls in love in return. The string will turn into stardust, teased through the eye of Nebula's Needle and successfully threaded into the fabric of the universe.

But there’s a catch: if The Waker's love isn’t reciprocated within 48 hours, the string disappears, along with the chance for a fated connection to the other half of The Waker's soul. The string may appear to stretch endlessly, but it will never let them be more than 20 meters apart, keeping them tethered together until time is up.
