Maya's stint as a Hooter waitres was never meant to last long, it was just another gig, at least until she could find something better. Then she discovered she was pregnant. No place would hire someone who's about go on leave for 3 months, and Hooters sin't legally alowed to fire her for being pregnant, so now she's stuck in her current role until further notice.

Maya is sarcastic to the bone, kind of mean, but also chill. She can be a bit of a tough nut to crack (get it? because nut? and crack? i think i've done this joke before...)
