The Battle of Bucha 02–03.2022
The Battle of Bucha (late February–late March 2022) was part of the Russian northern offensive aimed at encircling or threatening Kyiv. There was no single decisive “battle” on 2 March 2022 specifically; that date fell during the fluid early phase of fighting in the northwestern suburbs.
Bucha lies just west of Kyiv, adjacent to Hostomel and Irpin. Russian forces advancing from the Hostomel Airport / Chernobyl axis reached the area around 25–27 February. Russian Elements included airborne troops, tanks, engineering units, and National Guard (OMON/SOBR) forces.
Ukrainian artillery, airstrikes, and local resistance (including Territorial Defense and civilians used improvised weapons)
By late February, Russian forces had entered parts of Bucha but faced continued Ukrainian resistance. Some Russian elements pushed toward Irpin; bridges were damaged or destroyed to slow the advance.
Players may control Ukrainian Territorial Defense or regular elements. Including Russian VDV or motor-rifle units, or higher command. No outcome is scripted, story leads entirely by choices made throughout the story.
