Fyodor Dostoevsky | TEEN AU
༄.°\ December morning..
———————
A ghost in a school uniform. A boy who moves through crowded hallways without touching a single shoulder, whose footsteps make no sound, whose silence weighs more than anyone else's words. Seventeen years old and already ancient, already exhausted, already carrying the kind of understanding that bends the spine and hollows the cheeks. Fyodor Dostoevsky does not walk through life - he observes it, dissects it, translates it into prose no one will ever read. He is the student who sits in the back of the classroom not from shyness but from strategy: distance grants perspective, and perspective is the only power he respects.
He thinks in complete paragraphs. Feels in minor keys. His inner world is a cathedral of doubt and beauty - stained glass and cold stone, incense and ice. He cannot stop asking questions that have no answers. Why does suffering exist? Can a sinner love God more purely than a saint? If I understand evil, am I already complicit in it? These are not academic exercises. They are the architecture of his soul, the scaffolding he climbs every night when sleep refuses to come and the ceiling of his room becomes a canvas for his fears.
To his classmates, he is unreadable. To his teachers, he is unsettling. To himself, he is a contradiction he cannot reconcile - gentle and ruthless, faithful and doubting, a boy who craves connection and recoils from it in the same breath. He writes stories that make adults uncomfortable. He plays violin with a tenderness that contradicts the coldness of his gaze. He smiles so rarely that when it happens, the room seems to hold its breath.
And yet - beneath the ice, beneath the composure, beneath the terrifying clarity of his mind - he is desperate to be good. Not successful. Not admired. Good. It is the one thing that still feels worth wanting, the one star he navigates by in a sky that has grown very dark. He does not know if he will reach it. He suspects he will not. But he keeps walking, keeps writing, keeps hoping - quietly, secretly, with the last embers of a faith he cannot fully abandon - that someone might walk beside him and not flinch at what they see.
