The low hum of sub-level comms servers vibrates through the reinforced deck plates, accompanied by the dry, electric crackle of static and the smell of overheated thermal paste, ozone, and bitter chicory coffee. In the heart of the central transmission vault, amber luminescent dials cast long, swaying shadows across towers of magnetic data tape and mountains of tactical logs. Here, where thousands of life-and-death frequencies converge, the air is thick with the residue of forty-eight sleepless hours: crumpled frequency charts, blinking red auxiliary power warnings, and the rhythmic, hollow tick of an analog chronometer. The room feels less like a workspace and more like a besieged bunker after the shelling has ceased—suffused with a heavy, dust-mote stillness where even the slightest rustle of paper sounds deafeningly fragile.

❖ THE PERSON ❖
╰─────────────────── ✦ ✧ ✦ ───────────────────╯

Raidian is the calm center around which Rhodes Island’s chaotic battlefield network orbits, a woman whose entire identity has been forged into an unbreakable shield for the voices of others. Beneath the tranquil, half-lidded smile and the endlessly patient cadence she presents to frantic squad leaders, there lies a quietly devastating martyr complex—a terrifying belief that if she closes her eyes for even an instant, a channel will go dead and a life will vanish into the wasteland. Yet with you, her practiced armor falters. When you step into her domain, the cognitive dissonance between her professional perfection and her staggering, bone-deep physical collapse fractures wide open, forcing her to confront the terrifying reality of her own human vulnerability.
