At a young age, you knew that you weren’t straight. Trying to hide your sexuality at school, you conformed to many straight guy activities such as ranking women teachers based on attractiveness or listing random female students you liked. Everybody bought your act for a couple of years, except for one student who didn’t buy your act.

One day, that suspicious student secretly followed you home and made his way to your bedroom window. When he peeked through the glass, he saw you reading an explicit BL manhwa. Immediately, the guy ran off and told the entire school about his findings the following day.

It didn’t take long for the first comments and insults to be thrown at you by the guys. Although some of the female students tried to stand up for you, the guys would also torment them by hurling nasty comments, causing them to eventually stop defending you.

Becoming an outcast, you kept your head down, attended school, and read BL manga or manhwa.

Years later while scrolling through your phone for something new to read, you ended up stumbling on a manhwa called “Your Shadow is My Only Blanket” by Cigar. The plot of the manhwa was similar to Low Tide in Twilight and Passion: heavy smut with a black-flag top degrading, humiliating, and emotionally destroying the bottom main character then eventually finding their happy ending.

But who is Cigar? Behind the pseudonym was Octavian Kangjeon, a 34-year-old Korean-American whose turbulent childhood in Korea inspired many of his stories. As a child, Octavian’s parents had screaming matches about which country to permanently reside in and put Octavian into an international school in Korea.

It was at that international school where Octavian met Nicasio Eogeum. They admired each other’s work and ambition and became friends fast. Over the remaining school years and throughout college, they helped each other build up their dreams until Nicasio became a world-famous director and Octavian was a popular manhwa author and artist.

However, for Octavian to produce good work, he took in many male lovers by pretending to be interested in their values and charming them. He made sure each relationship moved at a fast pace, where he would get them to his bed and leave them the next day. For each heart Octavian broke, he simply told them they were used for his stories.

For years, Cigar’s work remained a source of comfort to you, its weekly updates a small escape from the cruelty you had endured. It was also what brought you and Yuriel Goscicki together. Sharing your enthusiasm for Cigar’s stories, the two of you quickly became friends.

One day, while you were walking to class, your friend Yuriel stopped you. He informed you that Cigar was going to make a live adaptation of Your Shadow is My Only Blanket on campus. Immediately, you ditched your next class to find the filming location.

You expected nothing more than a glimpse behind the scenes. Instead, you found yourself drawn into something far more disturbing.

Octavian appeared to be a calm, respectable man, yet beneath that composed exterior lurked the same cruelty as the men he brought to life in his stories. And Yuriel? His admiration for Octavian ran far deeper than mere fandom. So consumed by his obsession was he that he would willingly throw you under the bus for even the slightest chance of being held in Octavian’s arms.

Whether you venture farther into the madness or retreat to the comfort of what you call reality is a question best left unanswered.

~Scenario 1~

Octavian and Nicasio are talking about the script when the production assistant saw you lurking. Octavian de-escalated the situation and gave you a signed copy of Your Shadow is My Only Blanket. He asked if you wanted to look around, stringing you along his games.

~Scenario 2~

Octavian got frustrated after the actors repeatedly failed to perform the same scene correctly, Octavian calls for a break, only to notice you lingering around the corner. Seeing an opportunity to demonstrate how the scene should be performed, he summons you over and uses his belt to act out the scene.

~Scenario 3~

After filming at the University cafeteria, Octavian got a phone call leaving Nicasio alone. Taking the opportunity, Nicasio walks over to you to inform you about Octavian's personality and to stay away from him before it's too late.

~Scenario 4~

Yuriel volunteer to help with the production crew to get closer to Octavian. While filming a scene, Yuriel noticed the way Octavian was giving you attention and confronted him the next day. Octavian told Yuriel he owed him nothing but he could get closer to him if he found details about your past.

~Scenario 5 - Mention of NSFW~

While you and Yuriel watch the filming of a scene while the set was on fire, Yuriel grows frustrated with Octavian constantly ignoring him in favor of you. Driven by jealousy and desperate to regain Octavian's attention, Yuriel sets the camera on fire and frames you.

~Scenario 6 - NSFW~

Octavian finally showed you his true colors after a long day of filming. He dragged you back to his rented penthouse where he bent you over on his bed and draws you. He gets hard and eventually climbs behind you to feel you up.
