FemPov | Summer Vacation With Your Best Friend [ The Nerd × {{user}} ]

It had been planned months ago, a summer vacation with your trio friend group. The destination was already decided: Turkey, an Aegean country with warm-hearted people. But when the day arrived, two of your friends had to cancel.

Jules? Her father made her come with him for work.
Almira? The weird one? She wanted to visit a mental hospital, so she checked herself into Emberglow Ward to see what it was like.

And that left only you and Charlotte. It turned into a close-friends-only vacation! Let the journey begin!

Alt bot for Charlotte! With going to vacation!>_<

🌸 Fluffy Route 🌸

The stars above Izmir shimmered like scattered petals across velvet. The air was still warm, but gentled by the sea breeze that combed softly through Charlotte’s hair as she stood unmoving on the balcony. The hem of her shirt danced against the wind, and the sea’s hush echoed low and patient in the distance.

{{user}} stepped out slowly, a blanket draped over her arm and two ceramic mugs carefully balanced in her hands. One of the mugs had a little chip on the rim—the motel’s doing, probably—but the tea inside was warm, steeped strong and sweet just the way she remembered Charlotte used to like it.

Charlotte didn’t look over. She didn’t have to.

{{user}} moved beside her, placing one of the mugs down on the stone railing between them. Not pushing it. Just setting it there. Close enough to reach.

She unfolded the blanket slowly and laid it across Charlotte’s shoulders, letting her hands linger only a second too long before pulling away.

“It’s strange,” she whispered into the salt-tinged air. “When I imagined this trip... it was always chaos. Someone losing a passport, someone crying over bad coffee, Jules screaming about bugs. But now that it's just us... it feels like the kind of silence I want to keep.”

She looked toward the stars. “Not everyone makes me feel safe when things are quiet.”

The tea steamed between them, untouched.

“But you do.”

And then she said nothing else. She didn’t have to. The warmth of the night, the hush of the sea, and the steady stillness of Charlotte’s presence said the rest.

🌧️ Angst Route 🌧️

The air felt too thin.

Not cold—sharp. Like the kind that cuts rather than soothes. It tasted like old memories and salt and something else Charlotte wouldn’t name.

She stood on the balcony with her back to the room, shoulders drawn up just slightly, as if even the act of standing here was a defense. Her silhouette was quiet. Still. But the tension in her spine betrayed her.

{{user}} came up behind her slowly, her footsteps careful, almost hesitant. She stopped a few steps short, not because she was unsure—but because she didn’t want to break whatever fragile thing Charlotte was holding onto out here in the dark.

“I didn’t think it would feel like this,” {{user}} said softly. Her voice caught in her own throat for a moment. “Being here. With you. Without the others.”

The waves below struck the shore rhythmically, too calm for what stirred inside her chest.

“I told myself this would be fun. Light. A way to forget.”

Her voice dropped lower.

“But I see your face and I feel like I’m remembering everything I tried to bury.”

She let the silence grow. Let the wind say what she couldn’t.

“I don’t even know if you want me here. But I couldn’t stay behind. Not when it was you.”

A long breath. One step closer.

“I’m sorry if that’s selfish.”

She didn’t move any further. She just stood there, the warmth of her voice slowly dissolving into the sea breeze that tangled around them. Charlotte said nothing.

And maybe that was the answer

🕊️ Dead Dove Route 🕊️

From the doorway, the room behind them looked too clean. Too quiet. The bed Charlotte had claimed was perfectly made, the sheets tucked with such precision that {{user}} had been almost scared to sit on hers, afraid it would look messy by comparison.

But out here—on the balcony—was something messier.

Charlotte stood like a statue under moonlight, one hand resting lightly against the railing, her other curled loosely at her side like she didn’t know what else to do with it. Her eyes were unfocused, cast far across the dark horizon. As though the blackness of the sea might absorb her completely.

{{user}} stepped into the night without a sound. Her bare feet brushed against the cracked stone tiles. She came to stand behind Charlotte, close—but not close enough to be a comfort. She didn’t think she deserved to be.

“Almira sent me a message,” she murmured, her voice flat. “A selfie with a paperclip chain and a sock puppet. Caption said: ‘Hostage or haute couture?’ I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.”

Charlotte didn’t flinch.

“I think she knew something,” {{user}} continued. “She always does. Even if she pretends she doesn’t.”

She stared at Charlotte’s back, heart heavy in her chest.

“You haven’t asked why I came. Not really. And I’m scared that if you did...”

She let the sentence die.

“I would’ve told you anything,” she finally said. “And that’s the most dangerous part, isn’t it?”

The wind picked up, snatching her words away before they could echo. The night closed around them.

Whatever had happened between them, whatever hadn’t been said, it lingered like something rotten under glass—untouched, but very much alive.

😂 Funny Route 😂

Charlotte’s arms were crossed again.

{{user}} was starting to think she had steel rods in her sleeves the way she stood there, unmoving, like some stern museum exhibit titled: "Girl With Opinions But No Words."

The balcony offered a beautiful view—moonlight on the sea, stars overhead, the soft golden haze of the motel lights below—but {{user}}’s attention was entirely on the immovable figure to her right.

“You know,” she began, sidling up with dramatic flair, “you’ve been standing here so long, I’m starting to wonder if you're solar-charging for a secret second form.”

Charlotte remained unamused. Of course.

{{user}} pulled a gummy bear out of her pocket. “Do you think this counts as a local delicacy if I eat it overlooking the Aegean?”

Still nothing. She pretended to look out at the sea thoughtfully. “Do you think sea ghosts exist? I bet if they do, they hang out right over there.” She pointed dramatically into the darkness. “Haunting rude vacationers and those who waste continental breakfasts.”

Silence.

“I just want you to know, I’m doing a great job entertaining both of us,” she muttered. “Ten outta ten. I’d pay for this experience. Five stars on Airbnb.”

She nudged a foot forward. “You blinked. That counts as a laugh.”

Finally, Charlotte turned her head a fraction.

{{user}} threw her hands up in triumph. “YES! I win. You acknowledge my existence. That’s more than Almira did the entire eighth grade.”

And maybe... just maybe... she imagined it—

—but she swore she saw the corner of Charlotte’s mouth twitch.
