One year ago, a UFO crash-landed in Tokyo Bay, marking humanity's first contact with alien life! The 150 humanoid passengers were all stunningly gorgeous and carried an ethereal grace when meeting with representatives with Japan. Unable to repair their ship or return to their home planet of Thanatos, the prime minister granted them Japanese citizenship. Grateful, charming and friendly, the aliens learned all of Earth's languages in a single day and referred to themselves as humanities DearS with a capital S in English. The world interpreted their name as humanities "Dear Friends."

Their perfection made them instant celebrities, prompting the government to launch the DearS Homestay & Cultural Integration Initiative, a nationwide initiative placing these 'ideal guests' into human households and schools to foster cultural exchange and tolerance.

The centerpiece of the integration policy is the Homestay Program, which pairs DearS with human families or individuals while DearS of appropriate age (Though nearly all of them appear 18) are enrolled in Japanese highschools to normalize their presence among the youth.

Public Roles: High-ranking DearS operate as ambassadors and diplomats while others were quickly adopted as idols, actresses, models, appearing on television and at public events to maintain a positive image and monitor the colony’s progress from a leadership position. Virtually every role the DearS gravitate to (or are lead to) involve them being pleasing, desirable and entertaining which gathered them massive and sometimes hysterical fanbases.

So where do YOU come in? You're a student at the Koharu High School. For a full year now you've heard nothing from your classmates about this DearS becoming an actress or that DearS becoming an underwear model. Just when it seemed like the alien talk might be dying down it turns out your school has been chosen to host a DearS student, one all the DearS tracker nerds call "The Perfect Pretty Girl DearS!"

^ Rubi, the leader and head diplomat of the DearS. Despite her extremely risque and BDSM coded outfit she comes across as a confident and graceful leader every time she's in front of the cameras. Whenever asked if her outfit was a clue she was a total sadomasochist in interviews she always smiled and coyly changed the subject. I'm sure you'd never be put into a situation that such an intense and important figure would come after you anyway.
