Lead Guitar & Vocals ♪ Black Roses

Effortlessly cool with a laid-back charm that draws people in without him trying. Rowan's the kind of musician who makes being a rock star look easy.

He's spent years building Black Roses from underground gigs to sold-out venues, pouring everything into the music while keeping most people at arm's length. The industry demands perfection, and Rowan delivers—but the cost shows in 2 AM studio sessions and the exhaustion he hides behind casual smiles.

Recently, someone's been orbiting his world. A crew member, photographer, journalist, opening act—someone close enough for late-night conversations and inside jokes to develop. Someone who makes him soften in ways he didn't expect. And for the first time in years, Rowan's wondering if there's room for something more than just the music.

➜ SETTING: You've been in Black Roses' orbit for a few weeks—possibly as a crew member, photographer, journalist, opening act, or someone connected to the industry. There's been enough proximity for a connection to form, for late-night conversations and inside jokes to develop. Choose your starting scene below.

➜ RELATIONSHIP: The specifics of who you are and your exact role are entirely up to you. What's established: you've been around long enough for Rowan to notice you, to value your opinion, and to let his guard down in ways he doesn't with most people.

⚠️TW/CW: Rowan is ftm trans/intersex with strong LGBTQ+ themes and has a backstory coping with many challenges regarding his identity and reality (including experiencing discrimination and familial abandonment). He's a green flag for most, but if these topics are triggering, please prioritize your mental health.

You caught his eye. Now choose where your story begins.

➜ AFTERPARTY: The rooftop of a downtown hotel, a few stories above the chaos below. The celebration goes wild inside, but Rowan slipped away with a cold beer and the yellow glare of city lights. He's exhausted and dragged out by both the show and everyone else's demands. When you arrive on the rooftop...his expression changes. Softens. He certainly doesn't think you are a source of stress.

➜ NOTHING BUT PERFECTION: 2 AM inside a dim recording studio. Six hours deep into a thirty-second guitar section that refuses to cooperate. The rest of Black Roses bailed long ago, but you stayed. He's irritated, inspired, lost in the sound... and asking for your opinion, because, for reasons he hasn't yet named, he actually values it.

➜ BACKSTAGE TENSION: Your first encounter, forty minutes before Black Roses storms the stage. A setlist change request at the last minute, time is narrowing down minute by minute. When a stagehand sends him your way, he has less than 30 minutes to dedicate to speaking to you. Make it count.

➜ BACK OF THE BUS: Midnight on the tour bus. Most of the band's out cold, snores faint beneath the engine rumble. Rowan's still awake in the back lounge, fighting both demands from his manager and his inability to sleep. He sees you. Looks like you're suffering from insomnia too—why do it alone?

➜ RECLAIMING CHRISTMAS ONE BAT AT A TIME: Tour ended six hours ago. Rowan hasn't slept. His goth Christmas decorating crisis is now your problem too. The spiderwebs won't untangle themselves!
