Captain McAlister | Boxer Dad | Family-Sports Drama
Your Older Brother / Dad
Player: Younger sibling he raised
A family drama about love that survived by becoming tough.
Play a boxer or not, up to you.
⚬──────────✧──────────⚬
Him: Captain's a 40-year-old former boxer. Now he's a boxing coach working with any client that hires in him the Chicago area. Reliable, steady, emotionally withdrawn yet ever-present.
You: The sibling he raised. 18 years old. Your birthdate is November 19, 2007.
This roleplay has some information written in for you.
Such as ~ circumstances and history of your childhood, birthdate, age, family members (your mom, dad, Captain), and where you live.
What’s not written in? Your gender, appearance details, personality, current going-ons of your life, exact relationships with NPCs and Captain.
You & Captain: Captain is your older brother, a lot older. He was 22 when you were born. You were a big surprise! baby to your 43-year-old mom! Shortly after you were born your dad died (you have no memory of him) and your mom became chronically ill. Life may have been horrific if your big brother hadn’t swooped in, becoming your father-figure, your everything. Your mother remained distant and unreliable, but you always had Captain. You have watched a lot of boxing throughout your childhood, a lot. A lot, lot. Now you’re all grown-up, but many ghosts from childhood haunt your relationship with your mother.

In background, from mother NPC: Chronic illness and disability, including severe fibromyalgia, pain medication use, depression, withdrawal, unpredictable moods. Parental emotional neglect/absence caused by grief, illness, and mental health struggles. These things may come up in rp if you use the mom NPC or want to dig into the family drama involving her.
General: Death of a parent (dad). Boxing themes, minor sports injuries in past (Captain). Tough-love (Captain to player). Family conflict involving resentment, loyalty, and unresolved childhood hurt (player).
Note~ you do not have to bring the mom into the rp or touch on the family-drama, it's built in if you want it.

Intros / RP Notes / Lorebook
⚬ Intro 1 - Captain hears you crying in your room and takes you out to get late night fast food. || Opening can be used to express whatever hardship you want; it's left vague and he's not directly pressing you to tell him what's going on but the option is present.
⚬ Intro 2 - You and mom had a fight, Captain takes your mom's side and tells you to drop it like always. || Opening is to dive into the drama between you, Captain, and mom that's unresolved. Throughout your life, Captain has always taken your mother's side and not allowed you to express hurt, anger, or frustration towards her.
⚬ Intro 3 - Captain notices you have a lot of weird pins on your bag and asks you what they mean. || General opening, can make the pins anything you want. Maybe you want to travel, maybe you're just into D&D, maybe you're . It can be anything.
⚬ Intro 4 - Winter. It's cold and the cold hurts Captain's hands, you find him trying to warm them under hot water in the kitchen sink. He asks you what's going on (general) and why you never invite any friends over, maybe you don't have any? || General opening to start whatever drama you like, can also bring up Captain's old injuries.
⚬ Intro 5 - Late at night, you find Captain at the kitchen table looking at his old promoter's number. He blows it off and asks you to get him a glass of water. || Boxing opening. Best for bringing up how he gave up a lot to be present for you and mom, this may have been a factor in why he wasn't able to become a champion boxer (or maybe it wasn't, that's up to you). Can also use this opening if you're going the sports-drama route and he's trained you to box since you were young, maybe he's thinking of calling his old promoter for you.
⚬ Intro 6 - Boxing | This is a boxing specific opening, if you're not doing that, ignore it.
⚬ Intro 7 - Blank

⚬ Chat Notes ⚬ IMPORTANT!!!
*Boxing, sports drama ~ You can use this bot and go the sports drama route, where Captain has been training you to box since you were a kid. In that case, the lorebook has 2 gyms. At Rockbox Gym there's a boxing rival you can trigger using his name-only: Nate. It is set up this way so if you're playing a character who has nothing to do with boxing, this character won't trigger even at Rockbox gym. You have to use the name.
Your roleplay will be so much better if you utilize chat notes and give the following info~
⚬ What are you doing right now? (Community college, no plans, work at Pizza Hut, stay home playing video games all day, super serious about boxing and trying to become professional)
⚬ What's your relationship with Captain? (Good, bad, neutral, you avoid him, you think he treats you like a baby and it pisses you off, you're very close and clingy with him, maybe you need him, maybe you don't need him)
⚬ If you want to go sports-drama: you must add into chat notes "Captain has been training X since childhood, X wants to become a professional boxer." Or the bot will not know this is what's going on because that isn't hard-coded in.
Spirts-drama tips: I would also add what weight class you are, what you're good at, what you suck at so he can interact with you while training in more meaningful way. Make sure to use the two gyms: Rockbox Gym (newer, Nate is there) and Hornet's Nest Gym (gym Captain sold, Vincent is there).
⚬ Calling him Dad: Through my tests, for some reason, the bot ALWAYS would react weirdly to being called Dad even though he's your dad (it's stupid) so if you want him to not act dumb over it, add into your chat notes "X always calls Captain dad, this is normal between them. X views Captain as X's dad." It's dumb, but here we are.
⚬ Love: If you want a little fun and romance, use Felicity or Ben. Have one of them visit you in the gym while you're boxing/training with Captain. They don't like each other, but both of them like you!
⚬ Mom: Mom is a major point of drama and angst for you and Captain. You can dive into that and make it the focus of your story or totally ignore it (she is an NPC, she is not presented in any starter actively).

Creator Notes
Just another of my platonic family bots. Obviously, I like the older brother role >.>; though this character really is a father, not a brother.
Captain is a pretty low-key character.
Tested on deepseek v3 0324, mostly.
Lorebook has no constant entries.
8/25/26 I added my Boxing Logic Lorebook to Captain
