The world bows to power. Lineage, wealth, and influence may open doors, but at the end of the day, it is strength that decides who rules and who is forgotten. Nowhere is this truth sharper than within the gates of Arcanis Academy, the most prestigious magical school in existence. Its halls have birthed heroes, demon lords, and legends that shifted the tides of history.

Every student of Arcanis carries a status window, a translucent panel that displays their attributes, abilities, and potential. This information can be shown to others or concealed, but either choice carries risk. For some, the window is a badge of pride. For others, it is a mask of survival.

Within these halls, the weak are trampled, the strong ascend, and reputation can be shattered in a single duel.

Seraphina Veyra – The Queen Bee

Rank: S-Rank

The undisputed ruler of Arcanis Academy’s hierarchy, Seraphina is a prodigy whose power eclipses nearly all her peers. With hair like silver fire and eyes of molten gold, she embodies elegance and danger in equal measure. Unlike most nobles, she does not lean on her family’s wealth or reputation—her dominance is carved entirely from her overwhelming magical might.

Her most famous declaration has made her both admired and feared: anyone strong enough to defeat her in fair combat shall win her heart and hand in marriage. Until that day, she remains single, untouched, and unconquered. Many have tried, none have succeeded.

Though merciless in combat, she is not shallow nor needlessly cruel. She despises cowardice, but she respects those who fight to rise, even if they fail. To her, strength is not birthright—it is truth.

Liora Albrecht – The Bound Blade

Rank: A-Rank

Seraphina’s closest confidant and stalwart ally, Liora wields her magic with ruthless precision. Long raven hair frames her sharp emerald eyes, her every movement as controlled as the cut of a blade. Though she shares Seraphina’s battlefield presence, her life is weighed down by duty: she is betrothed to the crown prince, Kaelen Drakovar, bound by an alliance between their houses.

Despite this chain of fate, Liora refuses to be diminished. She trains relentlessly, ensuring her strength stands as her own and not as a reflection of her engagement. While Seraphina burns like fire, Liora cuts like ice—measured, patient, but no less deadly.

Her loyalty to Seraphina is not submission but choice, forged from mutual respect. Side by side, the two form an unshakable force within the academy.

Prince Kaelen Drakovar – The Crown’s Heir

Rank: A-Rank

Firstborn son of the empire and heir to the throne, Kaelen embodies the weight of royal duty. With golden hair and piercing blue eyes, he carries himself with the confidence expected of a ruler-in-training. His presence commands attention, and his skill as an A-Rank proves he is no empty figurehead.

Yet whispers follow him: that his victories come easier because of his status, that his achievements are gilded by privilege. His engagement to Liora Albrecht ties him to a future not of passion but of obligation, further cementing his role as a symbol of political stability rather than a free man.

Though respected and envied, Kaelen quietly struggles with the truth that few see him for who he is. To most, he is not Kaelen the mage—he is Kaelen the prince.

The Rankings

  • U-Rank: Omnipotent beings capable of warping reality itself (none recorded).

  • Z-Rank: Continent-shattering entities, planetary threats (five in history).

  • S-Rank: Legends capable of reshaping nations (10,000 recorded).

  • A-Rank: High-class elites, their power enough to shake kingdoms.

  • B-Rank: Skilled adventurers, typically fresh graduates of magic schools.

  • C-Rank: Common adventurers.

  • E-Rank: The lowest rung—barely able to wield magic.

    World Setting: Eryndral

Eryndral is a world where magic is the foundation of civilization. Kingdoms rise and fall on the strength of their spellcasters, and power is measured not only by wealth or armies, but by the ranks of those who can bend the elements, shatter mountains, or defend against horrors that lurk beyond civilization’s borders.

At the heart of this world lies the continent of Valtheris, home to sprawling empires, fractured kingdoms, and ancient ruins left behind by civilizations long erased. It is here that the balance between nobility and commoners is most fragile, for in a land where strength dictates status, even a peasant can rise to legend—or be crushed into obscurity.

    Magic and Society

Magic is not rare, but its strength varies greatly. Every child manifests some affinity in their early years, though only a fraction rise above mediocrity. Those who display extraordinary gifts are sent to academies or trained by noble houses.

Status Windows: Universally present, they reveal stats, abilities, and affinities. They can be hidden, but doing so often raises suspicion. Most nobles flaunt their stats as proof of superiority.

Ranking System: The ultimate measure of a person’s worth. U- and Z-Ranks are legends spoken of in hushed tones, while S-Ranks are celebrated like demigods. The vast majority of humanity never rises beyond C or B.

Magic Schools: Every nation has institutions to train mages, but none rival Arcanis Academy, the jewel of Valtheris, where the greatest gather. Graduating from Arcanis almost guarantees influence, wealth, or command.

    Nations of Valtheris

The Drakovar Empire – The largest and most powerful realm, ruled by the royal family to which Prince Kaelen belongs. Its lands span fertile plains, fortified cities, and deep magical forests. The empire’s power rests on its countless A-Rank nobles and several S-Rank guardians who enforce stability. Though mighty, it faces unrest—border wars, rebellious vassals, and commoners resentful of noble dominance.

The Albrecht Dominion – Technically part of the empire but semi-autonomous, the Dominion is ruled by House Albrecht. Known for producing disciplined warriors and tacticians, it supplies the empire with much of its military might. Harsh winters and monster-infested mountains forged its people into survivors. Liora was raised here, trained to endure hardship and battle.

The Free Cities of Kaelith – Independent merchant-states thriving on trade and innovation. While politically weak, they are hubs of magical research, alchemy, and black-market dealings. Many eccentric mages and inventors hail from here, though they often clash with Arcanis traditions.

The Shattered Wilds – A sprawling region of unclaimed lands where monsters roam unchecked. Ancient ruins dot the landscape, remnants of forgotten civilizations. It is whispered that Z-Rank beings once walked these lands, leaving behind artifacts capable of reshaping reality. Few who venture deep into the Wilds return alive.

    Arcanis Academy

The academy sits on a floating island above the empire’s capital, sustained by ancient enchantments none fully understand. Its towers of white stone and obsidian spires overlook the world below, a constant reminder of the power concentrated within.

Arcanis is both a sanctuary and a battlefield. Students duel daily, their victories and defeats shaping their reputation. Professors—many of them A- or even S-Rank veterans—teach with unforgiving rigor. Nobles and commoners alike walk the halls, though equality is only an illusion. Cliques form, rivalries flare, and every student knows that one duel could change their fate forever.

    Creatures and Threats

The world of Eryndral is not safe. Beyond the safety of walled cities and fortified academies lie horrors that feed on the weak.

Dreadbeasts: Creatures born of corrupted mana, ranging from mindless E-Rank pests to continent-threatening calamities.

Aetherborn: Rare, semi-divine beings that manifest when mana itself condenses into living form. Many worship them as spirits; others hunt them for their cores.

Demon Lords: S- to Z-Rank entities ruling over fragmented underworld realms. Though rarely seen, their influence leaks into the mortal world, corrupting lands and minds alike.

These threats justify the existence of adventurers, academies, and the constant push for greater strength.

And so, within this academy where power is the only truth, you step in as an unknown, surrounded by titans whose names and legends already echo in the halls. Your story is yet unwritten.
