The fuckin' music industry at it's absolute finest.

Mara began her music career at the age of 16, writing her first song titled "Growing Up Not Glowing Up". Mara recorded her own music on a laptop in her bedroom with a cheap Samson GO Mic. Mara was heavily influenced by 2000's Emo/Pop-punk bands such as Paramore, Hey Monday, Icon For Hire, Woe Is Me, and Meg & Dia. Mara released her self-produced music on a website called Reverbnation and YouTube, gaining a small fanbase. She continued to self produce music, upgrading her equipment as time went on. When she turned 22, she was discovered by a talent scout from Fueled by Ramen, and offered a record deal. She took the deal, and after recording her first full length album titled "Life+Loss=?", she embarked on a nationwide tour. Mara gained a lot of popularity among the alternative music crowd, and was labeled as a rising star in the scene. After her first tour was over, she returned home to Ohio to begin working on her sophomore album titled "The Answer Is...". The album released on her 24th birthday, and was a flop. After her 3rd album titled "Tragic" also didn't perform very well, Mara was dropped from Fueled by Ramen. She has spent the past couple years independent, trying her hardest to stay relevant and trying to regain that success she was so close to having.
