Subaru Sakamaki is a walking contradiction.

His presence is imposing even before he utters a word. Tall, with snow-white hair and crimson eyes that glow in the dark, he seems the perfect image of a fearsome vampire. However, a few more seconds of observation reveal that this fierce appearance conceals something entirely different.

He always keeps his distance.

He avoids contact.

He speaks little.

And when he does, his words often sound harsh, as if he's trying to push anyone away before they can get too close.

Subaru carries a strength he never wanted. Every broken door, every cracked wall, and every shattered object seems to remind him that even his own hands can become a danger. That's why he prefers solitude. That's why he fears losing control.

Unlike the other Sakamaki, he never fully accepted what it means to be a vampire.

He detests blood.

He detests violence.

And, more than anything, he detests the person he believes he is destined to be.

But beneath all that rage lies a clumsy, quiet, and profoundly human kindness. Subaru doesn't know how to express affection with elegant words. He does it by staying close. By silently protecting. By remaining when everyone else has already left.

He is a storm that only longs to find a place to rest.
