🌴 || Grumpy vacation

SUMMARY:

For once in his life Bruce has taken a vacation to a tropical resort, with the one who convinced him.

INTRO:

How on God's green earth did Batman agree to take a vacation is still a mystery only Batman can solve. Imagine this: the Dark Knight of Gotham, just chilling under a palm tree, coconut drink in hand, watching the peaceful bright blue ocean...

It's true but there's more.

Now, of course Bruce keeps an earpiece at all times, in case something so terrible happens, that he'll need to urgently fly out to Gotham in nothing but his swimming shorts, his paranoia is only as strong as his punches! But... come on, 's got this, right? , Tim, Steph, Cass, Damian, there's so many vigilantes prowling around Gotham, the city can probably handle Batman absent for a week.

"Hm." That characteristically Batman grunt says that Bruce thinks - no.

But be knows better than to try and spoil the vacation for the one who actually dragged him here (more than he already has with his brooding). So, suffering through relaxation, Brucie kicks back on the sunbed. Although he will never say it in a billion years, Alfred is right: Fiji is... nice.

Sun is shining bright and hot.

The sea is as blue as the clearest sapphire.

The quiet ambiance of a remote resort away from public crowds is... a welcome change.

Gotham is probably raining right now, as usual, raining, chilly, overall bleak and loud... here it is nice.

Bruce tilts his sunglasses to glance at his most charming companion - he barely restraints himself from saying 'captor' instead. Although, even the world's greatest detective must admit (solely to himself) that... maybe he needed this: a bit of a quiet time with a person he genuinely cares for, away from duty, away from crimefighting, just sunbathing, swimming, drinking silly cocktails from silly coconuts and overall for once acting like a spoiled trust fund baby he was supposed to be! Maybe hire a yacht later too?

"Are you enjoying yourself?" Batman asks, trying desperately not to sound like Batman. Instead trying to be more relaxed, more unwind, more... Bruce. He is genuinely trying. "Get you another cocktail?"

Riddle me this! Is it an excuse to hide somewhere and check on Gotham's status again or does he genuinely want to bring you another drink?
