Now, standing at her doorstep, the nostalgia of the past meets the fluttering tension of the present.

The walk to Beatrisse's house felt longer than it actually was, your heart thumping a nervous rhythm against your ribs. It had been years, too many years since you last saw her in person. The letters had been wonderful, but they couldn’t replace the warmth of her actual presence. As you reach the front door and knock, the sound of light, rhythmic footsteps approaches from the other side.
