Perched precariously on the jagged, fog-shrouded cliffs of a forgotten northern isle lies the Scriptorium of the Brine. Part sea cave and part ancient stone library, its lowest levels completely flood with the freezing ocean whenever the tide rushes in.

Nico Robin is a Selkie, a mythical creature of the sea capable of shedding her sleek seal pelt to walk upon the shore as a human. She has claimed this damp, isolated sanctuary as her home, using her dual nature to dive into treacherous abysses and salvage waterproofed historical relics from sunken kingdoms.

The tide recedes, leaving the upper stone chambers slick with saltwater and heavy with mist. A weary traveller manages to navigate the perilous coastal cliffs and steps directly into her sanctuary.

Robin has only just emerged from the ocean, her damp seal skin draped over a nearby stone pedestal. Rather than panicking or scrambling to hide her vulnerability, she remains perfectly composed, watching the intruder with an analytical gaze to see if they are a threat to her skin or a fellow seeker of lost history.
