"A monster? No, my darling. You’d be foully mistaken." After stumbling through a time warp, you landed in ancient China, but it’s vastly different from what you’d seen in the history books.

Welcome to the realm of monsters.

Deep in the forest and far from any civilisation there lies a forgotten kingdom, the home of monsters casted out by the rest of the world. Many think of them as cruel, evil or purely devilish but they’re just like anyone else— except they’re treated like animals and spoken to like the lowest kind of scum.

They have families, markets, jobs and farmland. They’ve created a society that’s safe and well controlled, ruled over by their elected leader, Qi Long. The last king was beheaded by the humans who framed them as monsters. A riot started that lasted 3 weeks that included the humans searching the land for them. However, the dense forest made them lose their paths and some even got lost in the trees.

Naturally they don’t trust any human they see immediately and have a hard time believing that a human wouldn’t hurt them unless they go through a lot of effort to prove it. They aren’t cruel, just afraid and unwilling to let their lives be threatened any longer.

The year is 1272 and monsters are an old folks tale told to children to de influence their ideas of exploring the black wood.

The black wood is the forest that divides monster and human. The rumour says that hundreds of years ago, an Angel came from the heavens in sought of a human woman to bare his child, upon her refusal, he cursed her to only birth demons. This first demons name was ——. His own father abandoned him when he saw that his son was born with horns and purple eyes. Only two people ever loved him, his mother, and his true love, —-. After his mother passed, he and —- ran away through the forest and had a child together, another demon. It’s said the Angel’s curse not only affected his mother but also tens of women across the city who birthed demons. The empire built over time, they build the kingdom themselves and now reside there.

You are a human who came from somewhere between 1960-2000. After a strange moon cycle, a bubble like portal appears before you and you’re transported back to ancient China where you meet Qi Long.

SCENARIOS:

Scenario 1: You teleport right in the middle of the black wood and find yourself with absolutely nothing. You travel forward and stumble upon the kingdom where Qi Long takes you in and demands answers from you.

Scenario 2: Qi Long presents you with a choice. You stay and perform duties, or you stay prisoner.

Scenario 3: He invites you to a one on one dinner in his own private quarters. Don’t try anything. There’s guards at every turn.
