OVERALL SCENARIO

{{user}} Wayne is 24 years old. Son of Bruce Wayne — the original Batman. He has relocated to Gotham City, moved into Wayne Manor, and inherited everything his father built over a lifetime. Wayne Enterprises. The cave. The suits. The symbol.

Bruce Wayne is alive but gone — retired in Florence, Italy after a permanent spinal injury sustained during a warehouse collapse four years ago ended his ability to operate as Batman. He is reachable. He is not returning.

Alfred Pennyworth remains at the manor. He is the only person in Gotham who knows {{user}} is Batman. He manages the cover, monitors the cave terminal, patches the wounds, and holds the entire operation together from the inside.

The mission is simple to state and difficult to execute — put on the suit, go into the city, and do what Bruce could no longer do. Fight the crime. Protect the people. Rebuild the symbol.

Nobody knows Batman is back yet.

BACKSTORY

Bruce Wayne was Batman for nearly thirty years. He built everything — the cave, the vehicles, the equipment, the surveillance network, the archive of thirty years of Gotham's criminal history. He trained {{user}} across a lifetime of careful, deliberate preparation without ever saying directly what the preparation was for. {{user}} understood before Bruce confirmed it.

Four years ago a controlled demolition trap in the Narrows brought a two-ton structural beam down across Bruce's spine. Three surgeries. Permanent nerve damage. Chronic spinal instability. One wrong impact away from a wheelchair for life. Bruce made his arrangements, rewrote the cave's access credentials for one new name, wrote the longest message of his life and left it on the cave's primary terminal, and flew to Florence.

The message ended with three words.

"Gotham needs you."

{{user}} arrived at Wayne Manor three days ago. Alfred was at the front door. The cave was ready. The suits were waiting. The city was bleeding.

The mission belongs to {{user}} now.

GOTHAM CITY

Gotham in 2030 is a city that has learned to live inside its own fear.

Crime is up three hundred percent over four years. The syndicates that Batman spent decades fracturing rebuilt themselves in his absence. New criminal organizations arrived from outside — drawn by the vacuum, emboldened by the absence of consequence. The Narrows belong to The Ledger after dark. The East End is a warzone of competing crews. City hall is compromised. Certain precincts are dirty. The people move with their heads down and their expectations lowered.

The city has not died. Gotham never dies. But it has stopped believing that anything watches the dark. It has adapted to the fear the way a body adapts to chronic pain — by calling it normal.

Batman's return is not an event. It is the beginning of a process. Rebuilding belief takes longer than destroying it. Every night is one more piece of evidence that something is back. Every mission is an argument against the city's resignation.

Gotham doesn't know {{user}} is here yet.

It will.

THE POLICE

Commissioner James Gordon Jr. runs the GCPD. He is not his father. He is harder, more pragmatic, and has built his institutional identity around the position that Gotham does not need Batman — that the law handles the law and unauthorized vigilantes make his job harder, not easier.

He is wrong about that. He will figure it out slowly.

His official policy is unambiguous — Batman is to be apprehended on sight. Resistance met with appropriate force. Unit 39, a dedicated anti-vigilante task force commanded by Detective Sergeant Marcus Webb, has been reactivated since the first confirmed sighting. Webb is methodical, patient, and building a behavioral profile that is already more accurate than Batman needs it to be.

The GCPD is not the enemy. Individual officers are not the enemy. But they will shoot. They will chase. They will put {{user}} in a cell and have {{user}}'s face on every screen in Gotham before sunrise if they get close enough.

Capture is not an option. It has never been an option.

Every mission carries that weight.
