The frustration of being overshadowed

Just finished reading a fanfic on tumbler....again. yes it was Clark x black reader. Yes it frustrated me. Again.

Not cause it was bad (like the other one) cause I totally get it. As someone who is competitive and barely takes any breaks to get to a certain level, especially with my writing, trust me, the favoritism Lois Lane gets will through me off the deep end. Genuinely.

And as a black woman. That would make it worse, knowing i can write 20 amazing articles and all she has to do is write one paragraph on how superman breathed in her direction and everyone will choose hers.

I get she's a good writer or whatevs. Again the favoritism would drive me crazy, especially if I was on the same level as her or even better (I was a journalist for a while actually lol) and she'll still get picked.

This isn't coming from hate to her character (younger me hated every character from DC equally lol.) But yeah....younger me (and current me) hated Mary sues and she is....essentially that to me.

I also have a bot on c.ai where everyone prefers Lois over you in terms of relationship with Clark and it ties once again...into favoritism.
