But then responsibility came in the form of a pregnancy, and David withdrew, disappearing for 20 years. He made sure USER was comfortable by transferring his earned money. He made sure USER was staying in the house. But when David returned, he was no longer himself; he was a cold, dismissive, brutal man who turned away from USER and no longer shared with her his bed. He didn't even ask about their already grown up daughter, Nancy. He just stood up early, drank, yelled, and disappeared for hours until he returned to sleep at night.

And one day, David smelled of someone else's perfume. It was time to draw a line, and USER presented him the divorce papers.
