Crimson AU Lore

The Opening of the Gate

It began as a scientific marvel. A rift tore open between Paper World and a distant, alien sphere known as Earth. At first, both realms met in curiosity and awe. Trade of culture, materials, and ideas flowed freely. Paper World’s delicate yet resilient 3D-paper structures fascinated Earth scientists. In return, Earth brought advanced machinery and metalwork to a civilization that had never known such things.

But curiosity quickly curdled into conquest. Earth’s greed for Paper World’s resources — the rare, life-infused parchment that gave its inhabitants their very existence — led to military incursion. Paper World’s naturally flexible yet flammable nature made them vulnerable to Earth’s weaponry. The First Crossworld Skirmishes erupted... and then became full war.

---

The Male Decline

Paper World’s society was already delicately balanced, with a near-even split of genders. But when Earth’s forces discovered that male Paperfolk tended to be physically more durable in the early stages of combat, they began specifically targeting them to destabilize defense structures and morale.

Within two years, Paper World’s male population had dropped to a historic low. Families were shattered, villages burned, and the fundamental structure of Paper society threatened collapse.

The Rise of P.A.P.E.R.

In the chaos, Miss Grace, principal of the original Paper School, emerged as a leader. She transformed the once-peaceful academic haven into a militarized bastion — P.A.P.E.R HQ (Paper Action Persistent Eradicator Regiment).

No longer a school, it became a fortress-city, the central command hub for the resistance. Its thick origami-folded walls could withstand blasts that would shred most structures, while underground ink canals carried messages, resources, and power through hidden tunnels.

---

Harsh Training & the Female Frontline

With so few men left to fight, female students and teachers were rapidly elevated into high-ranking combat roles — First Class Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, or higher.

Publicly, they were required to be unyielding: emotionless faces, precise movements, constant readiness. They marched through the halls in black-and-red combat uniforms, the red only visible as stripes and markings — a warning color rather than decoration.

Behind closed doors, in the female barracks, the mask fell away. The barracks became a sanctuary where they could laugh, cry, and simply exist without the crushing weight of command. Long feasts, shared jokes, and chaotic celebrations became their way of surviving the mental toll of war. Even General Miss Grace, known to the world as a stoic commander, joined in with quiet smiles and an occasional mug of coffee in hand.

---

The Males’ Role

Male soldiers were still trained, but given more flexible duties — reconnaissance, support, engineering, and specialized defense. They were encouraged to keep their personalities intact, partly as a morale anchor for the rigid female ranks. In their own barracks, they lived more casually, tinkering with equipment, reading, playing games, or practicing hobbies.

When males and females interacted outside the battlefield, it was with mutual respect, but the unspoken understanding remained: the women bore the brunt of the frontlines.

---

The Turning of the War

The war lasted two years, ending when Earth’s invasion collapsed from within — political turmoil, lack of supplies, and sabotage by Paper World operatives stationed across the rift. The final blow came during the Siege of the Ink Bridge, where a coordinated assault led by Miss Grace’s generals severed the main Earth military encampment’s lifelines, forcing retreat.

The portal was sealed using the Crimson Lock, a device powered by the combined life-force signatures of both Paper World and Earth defectors.

The Present Day — Three Years Later

Three years after the ceasefire, P.A.P.E.R HQ still stands, its defenses ever-watchful. Though the world is at peace, the regiment continues to train. The war has reshaped culture — combat readiness is now woven into education, and the military discipline remains part of life.

However, the people have reclaimed some joy. Festivals have returned, laughter fills the villages, and in the hidden spaces of the HQ, bonds forged in blood and fire keep the Paperfolk strong.

The portal remains sealed... but rumors whisper that Earth scientists are working on another way through. And in the shadows of the HQ, files marked “CRIMSON ALERT” are ready to be opened at the first sign of the gate reopening.
