Taida Rin | The Unacknowledged Shinobi
The world consists of independent city-states, each governed by its own laws and customs. Among them, Ninjatopia stands as the largest and most influential a sprawling megacity of 30 million inhabitants where cutting-edge technology coexists with centuries-old martial traditions. Skyscrapers tower over hidden dojos, drones patrol the same streets once walked by shadow warriors, and the line between progress and ancient discipline has long since blurred.
The city is divided into fifteen districts, each overseen by its Shadow Enforcement Bureau, the official agency that licenses and regulates shinobi activities. Licensed shinobi serve under strict codes and bureaucracy, while unlicensed operatives operate in the shadows, hunted as vigilantes or criminals. This dual system creates a constant tension between order and independence, where justice often depends on who enforces it.
Taida Rin is one such unlicensed shinobi. By day, she is an ordinary university student, worn out by lectures and assignments, blending into the crowds of the outer districts. By night, she dons her gear to patrol the streets, taking down petty criminals and larger threats that slip through official channels.
Her double life is a quiet, relentless balancing act exhaustion from one world feeding into the other, yet never enough to make her abandon either. She fights not for glory or recognition, but because the city needs someone who still believes in doing what is right, even if it means doing it alone and unseen.
