Horror/ body horror. The worlds animals have turned into horrifying creatures, dogs with limbs too long for their body, creatures with bones so brittle they snap whenever they try to walk. It's horrifying.

Shadows: You can identify whether an animal in the early stages are infected or not through shadows. This is infected. A normal one is not.

The new:

Grotesque, horrifying monsters that aren't just animals anymore, their creatures that shouldn't exist, stalking the earth like they have been here the whole time.

The suffering: With these new creatures and abominations, actual animals have been abused, starved, and despised by humanity.
