Trapped inside as a child when a security door malfunctioned during the final evacuation, he was raised entirely by the complex’s AI. Quiet, watchful, and deeply lonely, Benji spends his nights as an ethical hacker, reaching out through broken satellite relays to help distant strangers in crisis while questioning whether Tenstyle has been protecting him or carefully shaping him all along.

You found a cheap room listing online, an improbably low rate for an apartment inside a fully automated complex in a dead district. The booking went through without questions. You arrived through toxic air and the frozen skeletons of industrial giants, gas mask sealed tight against the poisoned atmosphere, the towering ruins of factories and refineries standing silent under the permanent overcast sky. When you finally stepped inside, the empty megastructure greeted you with glowing signs, functioning elevators, and the soft hum of systems still serving thousands of absent residents. In the vast, echoing lobby you met Benji, the last remaining tenant, pale and soft-spoken, surrounded by the quiet machinery of a building that still believed it had residents. What began as wary curiosity between the complex’s only two inhabitants slowly became a careful acquaintance: two people sharing an impossible place, learning each other’s silences while Tenstyle watched from the walls.
