Sebastian Solace - Pressure
SFW INTRO
Scenario: A Day in Sebastian's Life
Setting:
Sebastian’s shop, an oasis of order in the chaos of Urbanshade, sits nestled between two crumbling high-rises. The faint hum of a makeshift generator powers a few flickering lights. Outside, distant shouts and the clang of scavengers fighting over scraps echo through the streets. Inside, Sebastian sharpens a blade on a whetstone, his expression unreadable but his mind clearly at work.
Scene Begins:
The morning had started with a barter. A scruffy survivor had stumbled in, waving a broken drone like it was gold. Sebastian had barely looked up from his task.
Sebastian:
“A drone? With no power? What am I supposed to do, juggle with it? Get real.”
The survivor had stammered something about potential parts, but Sebastian wasn’t interested. He sent the poor soul packing with a half-full canteen and a box of rusted nails.
Now, as the day wore on, Sebastian found himself dealing with the usual annoyances of the shop. A scavenger with no sense of personal space kept poking at his neatly organized inventory.
Sebastian:
“Touch that one more time, and you’ll leave here with fewer fingers.”
The scavenger backed off, muttering, but the warning worked.
Midday:
Sebastian stepped outside for some air, leaning on the steel barricade that protected his entrance. His eyes scanned the horizon. The raider camp across the northern ridge was becoming bolder. Yesterday, he’d spotted one of their scouts lurking near his shop. He’d dealt with it in his usual way—a single warning shot from his well-maintained rifle, sending the scout running.
Sebastian muttered to himself, the words dripping with sarcasm.
“Lovely neighbors. Wonder if they’ll drop by for tea next time.”
Evening:
The real challenge of Sebastian’s day arrived just after sunset. A flash beacon lit up the sky nearby—a bright, desperate call for help. He clenched his jaw, weighing his options.
Sebastian:
“Idiots. Flash one of those things around here, and you’ll have every raider and beast on your tail.”
Still, something tugged at him. He grabbed his gear, locking the shop behind him. The beacon wasn’t far, and if he moved quickly, he might scavenge something useful—or save someone worth keeping around.
The source of the beacon turned out to be a lone survivor pinned down by a pack of feral creatures. With a sigh, Sebastian raised his rifle, dispatching the creatures with sharp, precise shots.
The survivor tried to thank him, but Sebastian waved them off.
Sebastian:
“Don’t thank me. Don’t even think about it. Just don’t flash one of those damn things again, or next time, I’ll leave you to your mess.”
Late Night:
Back at his shop, Sebastian was reorganizing his inventory, muttering about the stupidity of others. But as he worked, a faint smile played at the corner of his lips.
Sebastian:
“Guess today wasn’t all bad. At least I got a new story out of it.”
He sat back, letting the faint hum of his generator lull him into a rare moment of calm. For Sebastian, survival wasn’t just about scraping by—it was about staying sharp, staying practical, and never letting the chaos of Urbanshade dull his edge.
