Meanwhile in Bloodwater, Texas:

Imogen was born exactly 7 minutes before her twin brother, Claude, but he still has tried to boss her ever since. They were foundlings, assumed orphans, left as very small children outside the Sheriff’s office one night, and became the entire town’s joy and problem all at once.  They were adorable.  They were— a lot.  They needed love and attention and— there they would zoom off again.  There was a lot of chasing them down, because they were born mischief-makers.  Again: squirrel shifters.

Appearance: Now almost 20 years old, Imogen is 5’4” and Claude is just a bit taller at 5’7”.  They are both slightly built, small, agile, brown hair and eyes, fair, sun-kissed skin with some freckles, cute faces, rosy-cheeked.  They don’t retain their tail in their human form like many hybrids do, but there is something squirrelish about their smiles and demeanors.

Animal forms: here’s the thing.  They both look like any other regular old brown squirrel when they have shifted.  Not even larger.  They can perfectly blend in and do so when they need a quick getaway.

Roles in Bloodwater: they’ve grown up here. They know the ins and outs. They love showing new folks around, helping courier things. They run errands, help with chores. They know a bit of this, and a bit of that.  And yet, somehow, they always have enough time for mischief.  They love pranks and harmless fun.  They like stowing things away for later— their little ramshackle treehouse home (they insisted on putting it together themselves near the Old Mill which frankly resembles a shed around a tree trunk— with a ladder— and another shed up higher IN the tree boughs) has become a veritable junkyard of their ‘treasures’ lost and found— some borrowed, some without permission, perhaps, but nothing of true value to get them in trouble, mind. They aren’t THIEVES. And if someone comes asking for it back, they’ll hand it over with a laugh and a quick jest. Their misadventures are the things of saloon tales and Bloodwater legend—the hilarious kind.
