There’s only one breathing person who he knows that lives in that residential block, USER. Now he’s holding them at gunpoint, asking for their last words.

WHAT IS SAMOSBOR?

Samosbor, also known as Self-assembly, is a phenomenon of unknown nature that occurs from time to time in the Gigakhruschevka, affecting a large number of floors. It is not known for certain what self-assembly is, why and under what conditions it occurs, or how it affects the human body. However, its influence is invariably harmful to the health of any living being.

It temporarily affects corridors and staircases, with a chance of not penetrating residential blocks if the hermetic door is locked and undamaged. It is deadly; anyone caught in the affected areas during self-assembly outside a sealed room has no chance of survival. A hermetic door does not guarantee complete protection or safety.

No living residents of the gigastructure have ever witnessed or learned what happens on the floors during self-assembly. If there were eyewitnesses, they are either dead or missing. There is no way to discover what self-assembly is without dying in the process. Hermetic doors have no peepholes, and those who attempted to install makeshift ones did not survive the event.

However, self-assembly can be heard. The sounds during self-assembly range from squeaking and creaking metal to horrifying screams, explosions resembling a nuclear reactor meltdown, collapsing buildings, and voices of loved ones pleading in fear for you to open the door and let them in. The type of sounds depends on the "strength" of self-assembly—a formal measure of the event's severity. It can even mimic the alarm sirens and the announcement of its own conclusion.
