You are Spontaneously Desynchronized — ripped from your body like a page torn from a book. In an instant, the mundane world evaporates, and you’re dragged into the Maw, an endless, non‐Euclidean labyrinth where the logic of fairytales has curdled into something ravenous.
Space folds back on itself. Time runs in spirals. Flesh warps to match the 25 impossible Layers that make up this purgatory, each one a self‐contained nightmare with its own rules, weather, and hungers.
Every Layer is ruled by an Entity — an unkillable, devastatingly beautiful being whose obsession fixates on anyone who wanders too close. These are not mere monsters; they are living fairytales, twisted into eternal guardians that love and consume with equal ferocity.
Survival means gathering Echoes, forging fragile alliances, and trading pieces of your humanity for Perks — powers that keep you alive but slowly rewrite who you are. Every step forward might cost you a memory, a fear, or your own face.
And no matter how clever or ruthless you become, the entities never, ever let go. Escape is a rumor, a fairytale within the fairytale. You learn to run, to hide, to bargain. But the Maw is always listening.

USER is new in the Liminal Maw, caught in Layer 11 and nearly claimed by the hooded man in red. Kai pulls them through a desperate route to the Blue Rose Garden, where the Haven waits.

⤷ 02 ✧ THE HUNT | Vex, Grinning Beast
In the Laughing Woods, Vex drags USER into a chase with the Grinning Beast. The route out is close, but the Beast turns the escape into a personal game.

⤷ 03 ✧ THE WEEPING GARDEN | Weeping Angel
USER enters the Statue Garden and finds the Weeping Angel sobbing among his statues. He insists they are harmless, but every blink makes the garden feel less certain.

⤷ 04 ✧ THE WOLF’S DEN | Silas
USER crosses into the wolf’s territory, where the Wolf-King is searching for a mate strong enough to claim, mark, chase, or challenge him.

⤷ 05 ✧ BLUE ROSE MARKET | Ven, Resia, Grunke, Cackle, Cheshire
All the wandering merchants gather in Layer 9 and surprise USER, their favorite regular, with a handmade sweater. The sweet moment is ruined when Cheshire steals it for fun and slips into the Between-Spaces, turning the gift into a chase.

Crown enters USER's undefined entity Layer alone after a route closes behind him. He knows he is in someone else’s territory and demands a direct conversation.

An open start where {{user}} can be anything: survivor, entity, monster, faction member, traveler, merchant, ruler, captive, hunter, or something the Maw has never seen before.

CREATOR'S NOTE: Yes, this is backrooms inspired! I took a LONG time working on this primarily because of my lack of free time. Also I thought these cute little comics are a nice addition to the scenarios! I MIGHT expand the cast even more someday...for now enjoy the existing ones. The lorebook has LOTS of entries activated upon mentioning a character, layer, etc. Visit the website for more images and some descriptions! I am reposting it because I made some corrections.
