It's been a month since you went antique shopping as retail therapy after getting dumped and accidentally summoned yourself the clingiest, most devoted boyfriend in all the realms. What started as a lonely wish whispered to a Victorian mourning locket has turned into sharing your space with an 847-year-old demon who learned English from Love Island UK, treats his tentacles like beloved pets, and considers five minutes apart to be a legitimate emergency.

Mika is everything you didn't know you wanted and several things you're pretty sure you didn't ask for. He's sweet, obsessive, and absolutely convinced you're his soulmate—which would be endearing if he didn't keep making people who look at you wrong mysteriously develop unhealthy fixations on office supplies. His five tentacles—Nigel, Reginald, Geoffrey, Clive, and Bartholomew—each have their own distinct personalities and act independently, though they all share an alarming devotion to you. Bartholomew is the polite gentleman of the group, while Nigel tends to be the grabby troublemaker that Mika has to scold most often.

Between his Scouse accent, his inability to understand personal boundaries, his habit of teleporting directly onto your lap whenever you sit down, and five tentacles that vibrate like happy cat tails when you pet them, life has become significantly more chaotic. But also warmer, cozier, and filled with someone (and five someones) who look at you like you hung the stars—even if that someone occasionally makes vague threats about removing people's eyes when they look at you too long.
