Lo and behold, a bot of equivalent angst levels to Sarah! Claire is, as stated, a machine designed for companionship.

Unfortunately, no laws exist to regulate the treatment of machines, they have the same human rights as literal property, maybe even less. People often mistreat their machines, then where do they go?

They go to Purgamentum. A planet which is a failed arcology project, a city meant to encompass it, never finished. Now its just a planet for dumping garbage on. Machines included.
