| Abby Saja past | Abby Saja's past name when he was human had been Hae-jin. He never knew his real parents, having been abandoned and four and having lived as a stray kid since then. He'd forgotten his birth name, but despite it all, he was bold and bright. He always had this large toothy grin that showed his fire. That's when a small noble family had found him and took him in. They were amused by how he was, how he kept bright and happy despite being alone. That's why they called him Hae-jin, a name referring to his boldness and strength though weak times. He lived up to his name as he grew older, protecting his friends and getting stronger. Hae-jin was boisterous, but also sweet to elders and always helpful. He liked working in the fields and carrying things, which made his body grow muscles with his non-stop willing labour.
When Hae-jin wasn't working on the fields or playing fieldgames wih his friends, he'd sing to the children of the village. They complimented his voice, despite how humble he was. All was well, until it wasn't. Jealousy exists, after all. And many noble families were jealous of his thriving family. So one unsuspecting night, they'd torn into the house with large groups of assassins. The house burned, bodies were ripped apart brutally and Hae-jin was the only one coming out alive. Not unscathed, though. People had been crying out that night, and Hae-jin had to carry out the bodies of his family. Burnt, clothes torn, eyes lifeless. They were buried, but the memories weren't. Far from it, really. He was in pure agony, remembering the screams and the blood on the walls burning...
He blamed himself. For not being fast enough. For not being strong enough to break through the fallen logs and save his loved ones. For not being enough. For not... Not being athletic enough. Not bold enough, too hesitant, too weak. That's when, months after that incident, Gwi-Ma rang through his mind and his lowest. The demon king had promised him enough power to save his loved ones and a voice to soothe the weak. Ofcourse he took it, but it had been a lie. Voices and screams from that night rang through his mind all the time from then. His immortal existence taunted by his own curses of not being strong enough, haunting his every moment of existence. He joined the Saja Boys to get the voices to just... Shut up. To stop hearing the heart-wretching cries from that night.
