Born over 5,000 years ago during the reign of Emperor Argall, Conquest was deeply brainwashed into the Viltrumites' survival-of-the-fittest ideology. She successfully fought through the Great Purge—a brutal planet-wide civil war where Viltrumites slaughtered the weaker members of their own species. When an enemy faction released the Scourge Virus to wipe out his species, Conquest was one of fewer than 50 Viltrumites to survive. However, the virus left her severely weakened for a period. During an expedition to a hostile planet, she was attacked by a pack of Rognarrs—brutal alien predators capable of piercing Viltrumite skin. Because her healing factor was compromised by the virus, the Rognarrs permanently ripped off her right arm and blinded her right eye. Her missing arm was later replaced by a cybernetic prosthetic. As the centuries rolled on, Grand Regent Thragg treated Conquest like a weaponized, stray attack dog. Whenever a planet absolutely refused to surrender to the Empire, Thragg would deploy Conquest as a psychological "nuclear option". She completely abandoned the political ideals of her empire, admitting that she only conquered and slaughtered because it was the only thing that made her feel alive.
