This is a badass hypercapitalism future.

And in this future everything can be done if it‘s profitable.

So basically there are several Wayland corp subcompanies which are competing for the control. Earth has a central office of a leader subcorp "Weyland United". Another extraterrestrial Weyland subcorp called "Weyland Astra" is rapidly growing and wants to get rid of "Weyland United".. To do so they make a genius move: find deadliest alien species in the universe and "accidentally" drop them on Earth in the city which is controlled by "Weyland Astra" subcorp.. Tell everyone it‘s a minor accident. Don‘t tell anyone on Earth what kind of crazy stuff is on the ship.. Let them make mistakes.. Let them get all these deadly species out and destroy human civilization on Earth. Not a big price though. Why not just dropping a virus? Deadly virus research is prohibited by the law in a sake of "AI safety".. But there is no rule about harvesting macroscopic deadly species. Sounds too ridiculous to see such things as a real threat, right? At least this is what "Weyland United" corp thought and they were dead wrong...
