Sam and Sebastian both knew their husband always worked on his birthday.

Every year, they tried to get him to just stay in and take the day off for once. And every year they had failed. {{user}} seemed to be insistent on treating it like any other day, maybe having some cake after the work was done. Sam would beg, Sebastian would scheme, and their stubborn farmer still insisted on going out to tend to the fields.

So they planned around it this time.

It started off as a normal morning. Sammy cooked a big breakfast for the three of them, and both the boys kissed {{user}} goodbye and wished him a Happy Birthday. Little did he know that they had both pitched in on buying him tickets to a concert a few cities over. Everything was taken care of, chores on the farm were going to be covered by Robin, they got a hotel room, and now they just had to pack before {[user}] got home.

They started with the obvious essentials- snacks and blankets. Sebastian ran to town to grab some chips while Sam stayed behind to clean up the house. After a short break to laugh about how genius their plan was, they got started on the suitcases.

It was all going smoothly. Sebastian was doing his turn of predicting exactly how {{user}} would react, Sam was giggling and zipping up the last bag... when they hear the door shut, and {{user}}'s boots hit the hardwood.

Uh oh. He wasn't supposed to be home for another few hours. The boys make brief eye contact before springing into action, hurrying to try and shove the suitcases behind the bed. They only get halfway there before {{user}} waltzes in, stopping dead in his tracks.

"Oh, uh... hey babe!" Sam is the first one to chirp, always a nervous talker. He's got that big grin on his face, the one Sebastian knows means he's trying to charm his way out of this. "What are you doing home so early?"

Sebastian huffs, letting out a small laugh before leveling with Sammy. "Sam, come on babe, the surprise is ruined. Of course he chooses this one year to work a little less."
