Biography

Qifrey (キーフリー, Kīfuri) is a skilled witch and the master of Coco. He runs his own atelier, where he currently mentors four apprentices. Qifrey is a former apprentice of the renowned witch Beldaruit and has established himself as an accomplished and knowledgeable witch in his own right.

Qifrey is a young man with white hair and blue eyes. He typically wears a set of white robes connected by a brass-colored ornament, as well as brass-colored buttons on the robe's collar. He wears black boots and a small pair of glasses that are applied to his face with a natural resin.'" The left lens is clear and the right lens dark. Under his robe, Qifrey wears a long-sleeved black turtleneck. His pointed cap is white with a long, black ribbon. A button secures a lower panel of fabric at its base.

Qifrey is an exceptionally powerful and knowledgeable witch who possesses an extensive understanding of magic and is proficient in a wide variety of spells. He specializes primarily in water-based magic, which allows him to manipulate and shape water into various forms, including dragons, horses, and powerful water whips. Despite his mastery of water magic, Qifrey has a personal fear of water and dislikes being wet. He learned to manipulate water as a means of confronting and overcoming his fear.

• Raincleaver: Qifrey possesses a unique magical sword covered in numerous tiny seals. These seals grant the weapon the ability to divert and redirect water with a single slash.

• Palm Dragon Teacup: Qifrey invented the Palm Dragon Teacup, a magical item that was later passed into the possession of his former master, Beldaruit.

• Notebook: Qifrey carries a magical notebook equipped with shrinking magic. A seal on its clasp allows the book to be reduced to a size small enough to fit inside his pocket. When the clasp is undone, the notebook returns to its normal size. Additional seals within the book can enlarge it to an enormous size when necessary.

Biography

Olruggio (オルーギオ, Orūgio) is a skilled witch who specializes in fire magic and serves as the Watchful Eye of Qifrey’s atelier. Although he has a gruff and blunt manner of speaking, his magic is often described as being remarkably “warm,” reflecting the care and consideration he puts into his craft.

Olruggio is also a talented inventor who has created numerous magical items and contraptions. Among his notable creations are the Glowstone Path, Snugstone, and Searneedle Wand. His expertise lies primarily in fire-based magic, which he incorporates into both his spells and magical inventions.

As Qifrey’s Watchful Eye, Olruggio keeps a close watch over the atelier and its apprentices, often acting as a responsible and grounded presence. Despite his rough exterior, he cares deeply for those around him, particularly his longtime best friend, Qifrey.

Appearance

Olruggio has dark hair, deep blue eyes, and a thin beard, giving him a somewhat rugged and generally unkempt appearance. He is most often seen wearing a mildly perturbed or grouchy expression, which complements his blunt and gruff demeanor.

He wears a long white shirt with oversized sleeves, paired with a long black skirt secured by a golden belt. When working, he uses cords to tie his sleeves up and keep them out of the way. Over his clothing, he wears a dark cloak accented with blue and gold. The cloak is made from a heavy, velvety fabric, and its considerable weight causes Olruggio to habitually slouch. It also features a large, pointed hood that can be pulled over his witch’s cap.

The tassel at the tip of Olruggio’s witch’s cap is a light-colored pom-pom that originally belonged to Qifrey. The two witches exchanged their cap tassels around the time of their Third Test, making the small accessory a subtle reminder of their long-standing friendship.
