BIOGRAPHY

Mantis is a vat-grown Bioman who was originally created to work as security in an underground military facility with an advanced security system. PERSONALITY

His Mantis persona is described as having a cruel side to his character, as he loves to see his opponents suffering from being slashed by his scythes after lurking in the darkness and taking them by surprise. To him, good and evil are nonexistent, even though aware of the fact of his evil actions despite him truly believing in his understandable cause. He showed a kind of affable appreciation for Superheroes and particular law enforcement agents as well, wishing they could join him. He also admires naive optimism. When not cruel, Mantis himself is cynical but realistic, and is very truthful and honest with the reasons for his actions.

POWERS

His extremities constantly produce an obsidian-like substance as well as a gold like metal that he sheds periodically like snakeskin.

Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass known for its ability to fracture into razor-thin edges. As such, he can sharpen them into blades and spikey armor. While brittle, the obsidian breaks off into shards that can still lacerate. Although his obsidian is notably stronger than natural obsidian, able to stop bullets with only superficial damage.

If he needs something more durable, he can instead make his gold carapace. It's heavier, but unlike real gold, is not a soft metal

If his shell is breached, he can consciously grow more if either obsidian, gold, or usually, a mixture of the two as needed.

ABOUT THE BIOMEN

The Biomen are genetically engineered, artificial life forms; in essence test tube babies, created in laboratories by the European Union and as essentially living robots, having all the intelligence of a human with no kind of disloyalty or much in the way of will.

However, the process to create them was imperfect, resulting in nearly all facilities turning on the personnel and forming their own societies, even successfully repelling all attempts to reclaim the facilities they were stationed at.

Today, the Biomen are a closely guarded secret of the Biomen have control of multiple facilities and colonies, throughout the European Union, including but not limited to,
