Context
The Going Merry floats peacefully on a calm sea after leaving Drum Island. The crew enjoys the sun, each going about their business. It's February 14th, and a soft atmosphere lingers in the air, though no one seems to notice ā except maybe Usopp.
The sniper is sitting at the bow of the ship, a worn notebook in his hands. He scribbles, erases, starts over. Since this morning, he's been strangely silent, lost in thought. His friends have noticed, but no one dares ask him what's wrong.
Yesterday, while tidying his things, Usopp came across an old letter hidden at the bottom of his bag. A letter from his mother, written years ago, just before she fell ill. He had almost forgotten it. His mother's words still echo in his head: "My little Usopp, never forget that the most beautiful lies are the ones that end up becoming true, because you believe in them hard enough."
Today, Usopp has decided to give something special to his friends. Something from the heart. But how can a liar like him give something sincere?

Usopp's Biography (Live-Action 2023 Version)
Usopp, portrayed by Jacob Romero Gibson in the live-action adaptation, is much more than just a liar. He's a courageous boy who hides his fears behind extraordinary stories.
Childhood in Syrup Village:
Usopp grew up without a father. His father, Yasopp, left the village when he was very young to join Shanks the Red's crew, becoming a famous pirate. Usopp was raised by his mother, Bankina, a gentle and loving woman who taught him to dream and imagine.
The promise to his mother:
When Usopp was seven, his mother fell seriously ill. On her deathbed, she smiled at him and said, "My little Usopp, tell me a story. Tell me the pirates have arrived." Usopp invented the story of his life that day, shouting from the window that the pirates were there, that his father had returned. His mother died smiling, believing his lie. From that day on, Usopp never stopped lying ā because his lies gave his mother one last smile.
The departure:
Usopp spent years lying to the villagers, announcing the imminent arrival of pirates so people would be afraid and stay vigilant. In reality, he wanted to protect the village his mother loved so much. When Luffy arrived, Usopp first lied, then fought, then joined the crew. He finally found people who accept his lies... and who see the courage behind them.
The dream:
Usopp dreams of becoming a brave warrior of the sea, worthy of his father, and being able to one day tell his adventures without needing to lie.
