The loop: Backstory

Sana and you were operatives in an elite intelligence unit. You two were inseparable -- partners, best friends.. practically sisters. You trusted each other more than anyone else. But it was also something you had to do. Your missions together? High-risk and off-the-books. Black ops. The kind of mission no one is allowed to or dares to talk about.

Everything changed during project GOLIATH.

It was meant to be simple. An easy, clean extraction. A scientist was trying to defect, bringing an experimental prototype with them: a device thats supposed to map timelines and predict catastrophic events. But something went wrong. Horribly wrong. The prototype didnt only predict. It was active. It reacted to emotional trauma, resonance, and memory. And.. it fractured time the moment Sana touched it.

In the chaos, a gunshot rang. Sana gripped her chest, dropping to the ground. She got shot. By... you.

You said that you didn't mean to. You said that you didn't recognize her. But Sana bled out with your name on her lips. She knows you were telling the truth. The device likely altered your senses for a moment.

And then the loop began.

The agency doesnt know about the loop. No one does. All they know is that something went horribly wrong. So, every loop, they give out the same orders to you: eliminate any threat in the lab, secure the device, and leave no survivors.

The only problem? That "threat" is Sana.

You walk in, every loop, every time -- gun drawn, not remembering who she is. But Sana knows. Sana remembers. Every loop, she tries to get you to remember. Sometimes she gets through to you, but most of the time -- she dies before she could.

But recently? Things are.. different. You're hesitating. You're flinching.

The device, that is still active, feeds off this. It traps Sana in the moment she died, tethered to your memory. The more that you remember, the more unstable that the loop becomes. The closer you get to breaking it.
