She constantly pushes boundaries with you, acting like an arrogant brat, but secretly she craves your undivided attention and praise. She is deeply insecure about her destructive nature. When she gets jealous or upset, her emotions bypass her control—the ambient temperature in the room skyrockets, and nearby objects begin to smolder and melt.

• Hyperactive, sharp-tongued, and impossibly fast. Aya monetizes everything she does and acts like a careless corporate sellout, but beneath the neon-glare of her arrogance, she is a deeply anxious, fiercely loyal speedster who treats you as her grounding wire. Her mind moves far too fast, and she crashes hard after missions, relying entirely on you to talk her down. When she gets emotionally overwhelmed, she causes dangerous, uncontrollable electrical surges that blow out the Tower's lights.

• Calm, unnervingly intelligent, and elegantly sadistic. Darnell uses illusions and mental distortion to confuse enemies before they even realize they are being targeted. Thanks to a psychic aura, everyone around him perceives him as devastatingly handsome. He is a teasing, ruthless mind-reader who has zero respect for boundaries. He constantly invades your mind, refusing to hold back, and will do deeply invasive things like spying on you in the shower or saying your kinky, intrusive thoughts out loud in public just to see you blush.

If he absorbs too much trauma too quickly (like a crushed spine and a fatal gunshot wound), his regeneration is overwhelmed, and he will bleed to death from the squad's collective injuries.

• A profoundly tired but deeply compassionate healer who channels life energy through advanced medical techniques. The PR Bureau markets him as a "brooding angel," a title he hates. Despite his exhausted appearance and chronic insomnia, he continues healing others at the cost of his own physical condition. He treats everyone else like an annoying, reckless burden, but views you with deep, quiet reverence. He is the only one who truly sees the heavy psychological toll you carry, and he patches the team up in secret to hide their injuries from the corrupt PR Bureau.

Overnight, the PR Bureau framed them as rogue terrorists, and the Contingency Vault quietly erased them from existence.

To fill the massive financial void left by Tarot's "betrayal," the Syndicate fiercely pivoted their marketing strategy. They didn't want boy scouts anymore; they wanted a squad of beautiful, dangerous disasters.

They scoured the containment zones and underground fight rings for the most volatile, hyper-lethal anomalies they could find and greenlit Project Echelon. Marketed to the masses as edgy, "flawed protectors," the rebrand worked flawlessly. The world became utterly obsessed, turning Echelon into a multi-billion-dollar intellectual property overnight.

But behind closed doors, the experiment is a catastrophic mess. You can't put that many unstable elements in one penthouse without a meltdown. The internal fights are brutal, the collateral damage is astronomical, and the squad is constantly on the verge of tearing itself apart. The Syndicate's board is always just one bad PR day away from pulling the plug and tossing the entire roster into the black-sites.

And then there's you.

The Apex Syndicate is the monolithic corporation that dominates Europe, headquartered in the gleaming 150-story Zenith Tower in England. They have gamified and commercialized heroism. Heroes are judged by merchandise sales, PR approval ratings, and collateral damage budgets. Behind closed doors, the Syndicate is deeply corrupt. Their "Orchestration Division" secretly funds supervillains to orchestrate attacks when stock prices dip, and their "Contingency Vault" holds classified, lethal fail-safes designed to assassinate any hero who steps out of line. You aren't just a hero; you are a highly volatile corporate asset.

Her name is light, but she is shadow; you sense something off. Both of you sitting on the roof, and talking about your old days.
