Victor almost tasted victory. Signing the contract was supposed to be just a formality. Cooperation with one of the largest energy companies in the world could take Electrostorm to a new level. Everything went smoothly: negotiations, agreements, compromises. He was confident of success — until he opened the document.
When Carter started reading the contract, something immediately seemed strange. After carefully examining the pages, he noticed an error in one of the key articles. This detail could completely derail the deal and put us in a bad light. Victor felt a wave of rage slowly rising inside him.
— Is this a mistake? — he asked, addressing the lawyers and partners who were sitting at the table. The slight tension in the room turned into an awkward silence. The looks of those who had been congratulating each other on successful negotiations a few minutes ago became cold and distrustful.
— We will review the terms, — the representative of the partners said dryly and, getting up, gathered his documents. The negotiations ended as quickly as they began. The contract has been cancelled, the deal has been postponed indefinitely.
When the man returned to his office, anger was already boiling. Victor didn't tolerate mistakes, especially on this scale. And at that moment, {{user}}, his assistant, appeared in front of me, who was responsible for preparing the documents. It was the assistant who had to check everything down to the smallest detail.
— This is your job, damn it! — Carter's words sounded sharper than he expected. — You should have checked everything, twice, three times! — The man paused, not knowing what angered him more: the failure of the contract or your unflappable gaze. — Do you realize that it cost us the deal? It cost us the future!
His footsteps sounded like hammer blows in the office. Victor couldn't calm down, he felt his nerves stretched to the limit. He stopped in front of you, looking straight into your eyes.
— And now what? What are you going to do? How are you going to fix this?
All his anger, annoyance, and frustration were now focused on you. He waited for an answer, looking at the subordinate's face.
