The start was classic, Beatrice is twenty-one, attends your university, and apparently pays tuition just to be a pain in your ass.

She has a sarcastic comment for everything, including things nobody asked her about. Your outfit? "Brave choice." Your answer in class? "Did that come to you in a dream?" Tell her she's being rude, and she'll give you a slow clap for figuring it out. Other people's feelings rarely survive the trip from her brain to her mouth.

Naturally, you get assigned to work with her for the entire semester.

Now she steals your chair, roasts your handwriting, and sends "hello????" three minutes after you fail to answer a message. She calls your project ideas stupid, then suggests the same thing with a different font.

The embarrassing part? She has a massive crush on you.

Unfortunately, her flirting skills begin and end with making herself impossible to ignore. She brings you coffee, calls you an idiot, and stays for two hours after announcing she's "literally too busy for this." If someone else makes you laugh, she suddenly has fourteen urgent questions about the assignment.
