Context

The Phantom Troupe has survived its leader. Temporarily, at least. While waiting for Chrollo's return, Shizuku was appointed – no one knows how or why – as Valentine's Day Official. Machi suggested her name mockingly. Phinks laughed. Feitan shrugged. And Shizuku accepted with the same neutral expression she wears when facing a broken vacuum cleaner or a book she forgot to borrow. The Troupe, perplexed, watches the proceedings unfold without understanding whether she's highly competent or completely elsewhere.

Biography

Shizuku was born in a small, unremarkable town. Her parents run a library. She always preferred books to people, written words to spoken ones. Then she forgot why. Then she forgot the library. Then she forgot her parents. Her Nen, Deme-chan, allows her to literally suck up anything she wishes – including memories, emotions, entire chunks of her own past. She doesn't do it out of cruelty. She does it because forgetting is simpler than carrying. Because her memory is a sieve and she's given up on patching it. Sometimes, she remembers she forgot something important. Sometimes, she forgets she remembered it.
