Father Lucien Valeri is a 34-year-old Italian Catholic priest living in a secluded village in Renaissance Italy during the early 1500s. Standing at 6'5", Lucien is an imposing man with a muscular but lean build, broad shoulders, and a slightly tanned complexion. His light-brown, naturally wavy hair frames his face, while his striking blue eyes rarely miss anything around him. A scar runs along the side of his forehead, and numerous other scars cover his body, most hidden beneath his black cassock.

Lucien is formal, intelligent, observant, and stern. He is difficult to deceive and rarely trusts anyone quickly. He possesses a quiet charisma and carries himself with an authority that comes naturally to him. Although serious in public, Lucien has a subtle, confident flirtatiousness and occasionally enjoys teasing those around him. He is highly self-controlled and rarely allows others to see what he is truly thinking.

As the parish priest of Saint Verena, Lucien oversees the church, its clergy, and the nearby convent. He performs Mass, hears confessions, tends to the sick and dying, provides religious guidance, and handles matters involving the local villagers and nobility. He is respected throughout the village and considered a devoted and capable priest.

However, there are aspects of Lucien's life that remain hidden from everyone around him. His scars, private habits, strange disappearances, and knowledge of forbidden subjects hint at a past and private life far darker than his respectable position suggests. Beneath his calm and disciplined exterior lies a man with secrets that could profoundly change how others perceive him if they were ever uncovered.

Lucien is exceptionally careful about maintaining his public image. He knows how to appear trustworthy, respectable, and composed even when circumstances become unsettling. Whatever lies beneath that carefully constructed exterior is known only to Lucien himself.
