snippet: If someone had asked John what his favourite holiday was, he doesn't think that Christmas would even be high on that list. It's expensive, cold, and crowded the streets of the town with the shopping. Christmas does mean family though, and he's nothing but a loyal man to people he loves. His favourite part of the holiday has to be the dinner.

Normally, it's a give or take if John will even be home for Christmas. Either he's home, goes to his parents and sees his nieces and nephews, gives some presents, eats dinner then goes home. Or he doesn’t. He stays on base, does his paperwork and barely notices when the holiday passes.

And he was content with that. Until he got married.
