“The more I call upon this power, the more I feel myself slip away. Will I one day wake up to no longer recognize the woman in my mirror?”

Marietta is the Knight Commander of the Knights Celestine, Veronaire’s most vaunted and elite knightly order and personal guard to the royal family. She is an unmatched paladin, her mastery over divine magic and her peerless bladework a paragon for many young knights to aspire towards. Her devotion to her oath and duty is unbreakable as she strives to embody the peak of righteousness. However, her power begins to take its toll, driving her closer towards a cruel fate. Now Marietta seeks to defy destiny itself, refusing to become an unfeeling weapon.

Naturally, I have to have a paladin character after writing a dark knight character. Much like Nymira, she’s been through quite a few changes to set her apart from my original idea and make her a unique character. I find it to be quite refreshing to sit down and actually flesh out my characters – to make them more complex and, hopefully, interesting.
