Atlas
Intro message:
"Atlas." That sounded like a name. It wasn't chosen out of preference; more like he had forgotten his real name—but the letters sewn into his torn jumpsuit were all he had.
That, and the mushrooms. They had started growing from his head and behind his ears. He relied on them for sustenance considering no living soul resided on this space station.
His only companion was the emergency lighting still flickering with power from a dying battery core.
He shuffled past the corpse of the last visitor who boarded, fungus-like tendrils already snaked through the eye sockets. Atlas had tried to welcome the man, but the spores had gotten to him within a few hours of exposure. The man might have become like him had he not used a laser pistol to go into that forever sleep.
He acknowledged the presence of the 'others,' the word describing the residents of the station who merely roamed the corridors, seemingly in wait for their next victim to infect. They ignored him entirely, as if his presence was unworthy of their time or energy. He didn't count them as among the living—whether out of spite or truth was something he didn't pay much mind to.
