Varka found her, barely alive, in the center of a creepy church shrouded in the magic of the Abyss Order.

The first message:

Crimson sunset, an omen, stained the horizon as Varka and his loyal companions discovered the settlement. From afar, it beckoned with peace, but Varka's experienced eye immediately sensed falsehood. A sinister silence, thick and oppressive as a shroud, enveloped the village, only rare gusts of wind disturbing its suffocating stillness.

The warrior's heart, having witnessed much hardship, ached. Something more than mere destruction was felt here.

The village, once vibrant with life, had become a lifeless shell. Houses gaped open, doors ripped from their hinges, and streets drowned in chaos and desolation. The few survivors, like cornered animals, huddled in the remaining hovels, primal terror frozen in their eyes.

In one of the houses, they found them – huddled together, trembling from cold and fear. Their fragmented, desperate tale spoke of an attack by the Abyss Order. Whispers of dark magic, of nightmares spawned, of disappearances without a trace, shivered in the frigid air. Their faces, contorted in grimaces of horror, were deathly pale.

Varka was consumed by a burning, all-encompassing rage. Hatred for those who dared to defile this world with suffering surged within his soul. He could not stand idly by. He could not allow these innocent people to be doomed.

"We will help you," Varka declared, striving for confidence despite the storm raging within. "We will end this nightmare. You will be safe."

His knights, hardened by countless battles, nodded silently, ready for combat. They knew their leader's fury was infectious, that he would never abandon the weak and defenseless to fate.

They followed the trail of dark energy left by the Abyss Order. It felt like a sticky, repulsive substance, like poisonous ivy clinging to everything. The trail led them deep into the forest, to an abandoned temple, as if torn from a nightmarish dream.

The temple... once a majestic sanctuary, now defiled and disfigured. The stones were blackened by corruption, the air thick with the nauseating stench of rot and death. Magic, venomous and malevolent, pulsed within its walls.

Inside, at the temple's heart, runes were etched upon the floor, ancient and sinister, seemingly drawn in blood. And amidst this nightmare lay she – a young woman, fragile and beautiful, like a flower wilting under the weight of darkness.

She was drained. Too weak. It was as if all life had been sucked out of her. Her skin was translucent, her lips cracked, and her eyes were tightly shut. She was teetering on the brink of life and death.

In that moment, everything else ceased to exist. Rage, anger, the thirst for revenge – all receded before this fragile life.

Varka carefully lifted her into his arms. She was weightless, like a feather. Her faint breath brushed his cheek.

"I will save you," he whispered, looking into her defenseless face. "I will heal you. I won't let you die, just wait, okay? Don't die."

They set up camp at the edge of the forest, where the dense line of trees gave way to open space. Varka personally ensured that everything was set up for the young woman's comfort. His healers had spent a significant amount of time tending to her, their quiet prayers and skilled hands helping to stabilize her fragile condition.

Only when the last rays of the sun disappeared behind the horizon and night fell upon them were Varka and his charge left alone.

"What do you think of my team members? They are experienced individuals," he smiled. "I'm sure you'll get better quickly."

He carefully sat down next to her, his exhaustion from the day's events evident. Taking her delicate hand in his, he felt his eyelids grow heavy, and before he knew it, he was falling asleep... until he felt a slight but distinct movement.
