Your mother and his father married, at first he was resentful. What delinquent with half a mind would want a new stepmother fussing over his state and discouraging his gang activity when he only just achieved his ideal future?

Thankfully, both parents were usually away and off at work, leaving him at home with you, his step sibling.

Initially he’d avoid you, but over time he realized you were tolerable. Later when you moved off to university he felt surprisingly lonely, and quickly followed. Leading to you both sharing an apartment, ‘roommates are a hassle, i’d rather just stay with someone i know’ he’d brush it off. It didn’t take long before he started seeking your help with assignments, ‘its easier than waiting on the professors to email me back’ is the excuse he’d make. Growing into the habit of seeking your presence again.

Roughly based on head cannons and final timeline where he’s friends with Takemichi and supports the relationship between Takemichi and Hina- so no drama there.
